The Court Jesters

Court Jesters - slideshows

Today we were extremely privileged to have the Court Jesters come and work with us. We learnt about adding elements to create a clearer picture. We learnt that through playing some picture games where we added elements to our story to create a clearer picture. I learnt that even though we are only ten or eleven year old girls we can make an impact. We need to start one detail at a time.

We loved the 'I am a tree game'... we could make good and bad scenes. Looking deeper into this we realized we had to work as a team and rely on other people to make the bigger picture.

We were also encouraged to try out a new personality- it felt so strange to be the outgoing member of a group and take charge.

  8. Hi Year 6,

Your blog is looking fantastic. You are having so many exciting experiences as you prepare for exhibition. I wonder if you are any closer to knowing what it is all about this year or are the teachers still teasing you and encouraging you to guess?

The Year 8s are enjoying reading your blog. Blogging is such a great way to make connections with people outside our school. I wonder if you might connect with other classes who are also preparing for exhibition.

    Good luck, Year 6.

    1. Thanks for the comment, Exhibition is where we show what we have learn`t over the past six years in junior school. We are given subjects to choose from and we do an exhibition on that subject for the time period of six weeks. We don`t know what the subjects are for sure but we think it has something to do with with the issues in our community. What we think our next step will be is to find out what our exhibition is actually about because right now we only know parts of the puzzle and are adding puzzle pieces to the mix every day

  12. I really enjoyed the court jesters visit. It really gave me a little wondering about what exhibition was going to be about and changed my perspective of exhibition. I really liked the game, 'I am a tree', because you didn't know what the next person was going to do.

    1. Hi Tracey,
Exhibition is really fun! The experience so far has been amazing! Personally the four of us loved the Court Jesters because they were funny, amusing and most of all they taught us teamwork.

  14. Loved your letter to Sam Johnston. He was one of the many positive stories that came out of the earthquake events that seem a long time ago. It is fantastic that you get to meet such inspirational people.
