Jane Mahoney, Organising an Event.

We were extremely privileged today to have Jane Mahoney, who works in Events Management for events such as The Amazing Place, come to our school and talk with us. Jane told us that the most important thing to do in a crisis is to STAY CALM! She said panicking wastes time- we want to work with people that can address problems responsibly and calmly. She told us that if a plan didn't go the way we intended it is important to have a back up plan. If we get to a dead end- just step back, sleep on it and re-think it. Her advice was to have a run sheet, this helps us to stay organised. You need to have a budget- wonderful ideas have to be able to work.
It is also important to have a task list. Stick to your tasks and make sure you know all the necessary jobs. If some-one is in charge of something, leave them to their job. It may be being done in a specific way so your intentions may not turn out as planned!

  4. How exciting for you girls to have someone with Janes Experience share her knowledge with you.

Big picture stuff. Regradless of how big or small you need the big pictire then you put your plan in place.

When Im organizing events I like to make list and I work from the most important and now has to be done to the small stuff( Use dates and time frams). Read your list every day, change the order as priorities change.

Well done girls you are all quite inspiring!

    1. Thanks Anonymous for your information on how you organise things. Now that we are in our groups our next step is to think about which organisation we are going to contact to see what we can do to help.
